Hindu University of America(HUA) appoints a new President

An anonymous donor makes a one million dollar gift to the HUA Endowment Fund.

A new Board of Directors met on February 20-21 st in its Orlando, Florida campus to discuss the future of HUA in the emergent financial crisis in the USA. The new Board consisting of top academicians & researchers in various fields appointed Dr H R Nagendra, a Ph D in Mechanical Engineering, a former NASA Scientist, a Consultant to Harvard University, and currently the Vice Chancellor of the most prestigious Yoga University, S-VYASA in Bangalore, India as the new President of HUA. The icing on the cake, at the end of the board meeting, was a donation of one million dollars to the HUA Endowment Fund by an anonymous benefactor.

The Board decided to open the doors of the HUA through its on-line courses in various field including
a. in the service of temples through its in-depth programs of Purva Mimamsa,
b. in the service of the Hospitals with its healing traditions
c. for enrichment of student personality growth through variety of Yoga courses and
d. in the service of the corporate sector with the most effective stress management programs established by 25 years of published research.

All our educational programs are backed by published scientific research in peer reviewed journals. The College of Yoga and Ayurvedic Sciences is revitalized with a number of new courses catering to the needs of nurses, Yoga teachers and paramedical personnel. We are adding new dimensions of Yoga Therapy & Ayurveda to the practice of modern medicine in this country by offering these courses to physicians also. The School of Modern & Classical Indian Languages has introduced a pioneering program for the high school students whereby they can obtain college credits by completing online courses in Indian languages.
