University Core Courses:
There are three courses identified as University Core Courses. These core courses are designed to provide the students the essence of Hindu traditions. These courses present an overall perspective and prepare the students for continued specialized studies through other courses in various programs.
University core courses can be referred as HUC courses are as below,
HUC 5001 Introduction to Hinduism : (course introduction)
MGC 5002 Hindu Thought (course introduction)
HUC 5004 Research Methodology : (course introduction)
These are the required courses for the students pursuing Masters or PhD degrees irrespective of disciplinary focus. All three of these courses are required for Master’s, Advanced Diploma and Doctoral Degrees in Hinduism, Hindu Philosophies, Yoga Philosophy and Meditation, Yoga Education, and Divinity programs.
Program Core Courses:
These are the required courses for the students pursuing Masters or PhD degrees in the concerned Program.
Elective courses offered in any given year will vary. Graduate courses taken in other areas offered at HUA or at other universities may be accepted for transfer credit with prior approval of the HUA office. Any course offered at HUA will automatically qualify for elective credit.
