This course places emphasis on individual practice, builds upon techniques learned in YED 5003 – Introduction to Hatha Yoga, and respects the individual’s limitations. The practices engage the participants in a more intense manner, allowing for a deepening of the individual experience
Emphasis shifts to holding and extending the postures, and learning to withdraw the senses. Asanas are more challenging and include inverted, balancing and backward bends. The breath is used to manage the asanas more effectively.
Other areas covered include key points, benefits and contra-indications, Pranayama techniques, Yoga Nidra and inner silence (Antar Mouna).
