Faculty - Prof. Subhas R. Tiwari
Prof. Subhas R. Tiwari has been a full time faculty at HU since 2003, teaching courses on Yoga, Meditation and Yoga Philosophy. He graduated from Bihar Yoga Bhārati, a world class Yoga University, with a Master’s Degree in Yoga Philosophy and has taught yoga for over 10 years in Ontario, Canada and the USA before setting out to India to further his yoga studies. His formal studies include extensive practices in YogĀsanas, Prāṇāyāma,Yoga Nidrā, Antar Mouna and Meditations from the Tantras, and Śhatkarma practices. He completed his thesis on “Samādhi within Patañjali Yoga Sūtras”. He is an adept yoga Sādhana practitioner and teacher who is versatile in his approach, while maintaining adherence to the traditions as they have been handed down. His teaching emphasizes several meditation practices which guide the focus beyond body based yoga and allow the aspirant to embrace a deeper spiritual plane. Prof. Tiwari also holds an Honours and Master Degree in Political Science from Ontario where he had worked in Human Resources management. He is also Secretary of the Wise Earth School and has many years of active “seva” (service) to spiritual and religious communities. He can be contacted at - subhas@hua.edu
