Advanced Sanskrit – Grammatical Structures and Verses

SAN0304 – Gain proficiency in the fifth, sixth, and seventh cases, through shlokas (verses), stories, and conversations. Students will also get introduced to the different types of literature in Sanskrit.

This course is the part of the program-Certificate Program in Sanskrit Proficiency- Advanced Phase. We strongly recommend registering for the complete phase consisting of 8 quarters. The fee for all 8 quarters if paid together is $1800 in contrast to $2400 if paid quarter by quarter. (25% off of the complete fee) (Excludes shipping and handling of textbooks)

The course fee includes the cost of the KUSUMUM textbook, and shipping & handling costs of the textbooks.

Description

Advanced Sanskrit – Grammatical Structures and Verses Course Content: 

  1. The fifth declension / Ablative case for pronouns
  2. Introduction to Ayurveda
  3. The sixth declension / Genitive case, the ktavatu usage, gerunds
  4. Introduction to BhAgavatam
  5. Wise sayings and their meanings in Sanskrit
  6. The seventh declension / Locative case

Learning Objectives: In this course, students will be able to: 

  • Analyze noun and verb structures of verses and proverbs.
  • Recognize passages from popular Sanskrit texts; and
  • Paraphrase using grammatically correct Sanskrit.
