In this course the students will be able to
In this course, the focus is on reviewing and strengthening the understanding of the concepts and grammar covered in the program so far. Students will begin applying the grammar they have learned to comprehend texts such as Pañcatantrakathāḥ and Hitopadeśa stories. Throughout the course, they will continue practicing vibhaktis (declensions of nouns and pronouns) through daily conversations and simple writing, which will help reinforce their knowledge of cases ending in vowel sounds. With their newfound knowledge, students will be able to analyze Saṃskṛtam texts.
This course is the part of the program – Certificate Program in Sanskrit Proficiency – Intermediate Phase. We strongly recommend registering for the complete phase consisting of 4 quarters.
The book required – Kaalabodhinee and Vibhakti-vallaree
There will be a minimum of 1.5 contact hours with one or more faculty every week. The class is structured in a way that promotes discussion and learning based on self-study and reflection each week. There will be regular homeworks which will need to be submitted and final quarter end assignment for successful completion of the course.
