Exploring Kautilya’s Arthashastra:
The Manual for Leadership Development
Recent Webinar: Sunday, October 19, 2025, 9 am PT / 12 pm ET / 9:30 pm IST
About the Webinar:
The Arthaśāstra of Kauṭilya stands as one of the most remarkable works of political and administrative thought from ancient India. Composed more than two millennia ago, it covers the full spectrum of governance, from economics and diplomacy to ethics and statecraft, with extraordinary depth and realism.
In this session, Pranav Patel will guide us through the structure and substance of the Arthaśāstra’s fifteen books (adhikaraṇas), revealing how each section contributes to a comprehensive vision of social order and political wisdom. Participants will gain an understanding of how these texts interrelate from the formation of the state and duties of a king to taxation, justice, war, and foreign relations.
More than a manual for rulers, the Arthaśāstra is a mirror of civilizational intelligence — showing how dharma, artha, and nīti were woven together in the practical governance of life. Join us for this illuminating exploration of one of India’s most profound and sophisticated treatises on polity.
