Discovering the Self:
Tattvabodha as an Introduction to Vedanta Philosophy
Recent Webinar: Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 6:00 pm PT / 9:00 pm ET / 7:30 am IST (Thu, Jan 8)
About the Webinar:
In an age marked by constant distraction, information overload, and uncertainty about meaning and identity, many are asking fundamental questions. Who am I? What is real? What truly brings fulfillment and freedom from suffering? Vedanta addresses these timeless questions with clarity and precision, and Tattvabodha stands as one of its most elegant and accessible gateways.
This webinar, with Dr. Kuldip Dhiman, introduces Tattvabodha as a foundational text attributed to Adi Shankaracharya that systematically lays out the core framework of Advaita Vedanta. Through its simple question and answer format, Tattvabodha guides the seeker from everyday experience toward deeper philosophical discernment, helping distinguish the permanent from the impermanent and the Self from what is not the Self.
Participants will explore key Vedantic concepts such as the nature of the Self, the structure of the human personality, and the principles that underlie perception, experience, and knowledge. The session clarifies how Vedanta approaches inquiry not as abstract speculation, but as a disciplined method for removing ignorance and cultivating clarity, wisdom, and inner freedom.
We will also examine how these teachings apply to modern life. Rather than withdrawing from the world, Vedantic inquiry sharpens our ability to engage with life more consciously, reducing confusion, emotional reactivity, and misidentification. Tattvabodha offers practical tools for discernment that support ethical living, mental balance, and spiritual growth amid daily responsibilities.
Whether you are new to Vedanta or seeking a structured foundation for deeper study of the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Brahma Sutras, this webinar offers a clear and contemplative introduction. It demonstrates how ancient wisdom continues to illuminate the modern search for truth, stability, and lasting fulfillment.
