Dr. Ajay Shah

Ajay Shah earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Mississippi, and Executive MBA from the University of Arizona.  He has worked in the industry and an academic research institution in management positions in the areas of intersection between science and technology.  Dr. Shah is an Adjunct Professor of Management at Amrita University where he teaches Strategic Management in joint MS/MBA program between Amrita University School of Business and SUNY Buffalo.

Dr. Ajay Shah serves as the Executive Vice President of World Hindu Council of America (VHPA).  He is a co-founder of the Hindu Students Council, the first and the largest organization of Hindu students outside Bharat, co-founder and CEO of HinduNet, the first and the most prominent Hindu website in the world which paved the way for Hindu presence in the electronic media. 

His pioneering role in presenting Hindu dharma on the internet was featured in the book, “The Soul of Cyberspace: How New Technology Is Changing Our Spiritual Lives” by Jeffrey Zaleski. Dr. Shah is the founder and Convener of American Hindus Against Defamation (AHAD), the very first initiative of Hindus to stand up against the misrepresentation of Hindu icons, culture and way of life, founder and Convener of Hindu Policy Research and Advocacy Collective USA (HinduPACT USA), and co-host of HinduLounge, a weekly Facebook Live program on contemporary American Hindu issues.

Previously, Dr. Shah served as the editor of the Hindu Vishwa and various internet Hindu forums.  In 1990, he wrote “Our Kashmir,” a book about the issues in Kashmir and its impact on Hindus.  Ajay credits Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Mumbai, India for inspiring him to work on Hindu causes.
