Dr. Debidatta Aurobinda Mahapatra is a distinguished scholar with a Doctoral degree from the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His academic focus lies in conflict management and peacebuilding, with a particular interest in South Asia and Indian thought. Dr. Mahapatra has received recognition for his work, including the Scholar of Peace Award in New Delhi in 2007 and the Kodikara Award in Colombo in 2010.
As part of his academic journey, Dr. Mahapatra served as a Charles Wallace India Fellow at Queen’s University, Belfast, in 2010. His insightful writings and comments have been featured in publications by reputable publishers, magazines, and news agencies, including Reuters. Some of his notable publications include “Gandhi and the World” (2018), “Conflict Management in Kashmir” (2018), “Conflict and Peace in Eurasia” (2013), “World Order, Multipolarism and Terrorism” (2011), and “Central Eurasia: Geopolitics, Compulsions, and Connections” (2008).
Currently, Dr. Debidatta Aurobinda Mahapatra serves as the Director of the Mahatma Gandhi Center for Nonviolence, Human Rights, and World Peace at the Hindu University of America. His role in academia, coupled with his contributions to conflict studies and peacebuilding, showcases his commitment to promoting nonviolence, human rights, and global peace.
