Chairman of the Board of Trustees
Dr. Jashvant Gangaram Patel is serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees since January 2024. Dr. Patel is a highly qualified and experienced Medical Doctor specializing in Spine and Pain Management. He earned his MBBS and MS (Master of Surgery) degrees from Gujarat University, furthering his education with a General Surgery Residency at Flushing Hospital, Cornell University, New York. Dr. Patel also completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Kings Brook Jewish Medical Center, New York. His commitment to medical excellence led him to pursue a fellowship in Pain Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, in 1996.
Following his academic pursuits, Dr. Patel served as a Visiting Scientist at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, for five years. In 2001, he moved to the Central Coast of California, where he established a successful pain medicine practice. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Patel is renowned for performing advanced surgeries and procedures for pain management in the United States.
Apart from his medical practice, Dr. Jashvant Patel is actively involved in various social and community organizations. He serves as the Medical Director and owner of the CASC (Cypress Ambulatory Surgery Center) and Pain Management Practice on the Central Coast of California. Additionally, he holds positions on the board of several organizations, including FIIDS (Federation of India and Indian Diaspora Studies) and Param Shakti Peeth of America. Dr. Patel is also a member of the National Advisory Council (NAC) for the National Institute of Media, Communication, and Research (NIMCaR), Ahmedabad.
Dr. Patel played a significant role in the historic reception of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in San Jose in September 2016, where he arranged a meeting of Gujarati leaders with the Prime Minister. Engaged in philanthropy, he has been part of Dhanvantari Seva Yatra in the northeast of India, conducting medical camps in Meghalaya, Assam, Majuli, and Arunachal Pradesh.
In addition to his medical and philanthropic endeavors, Dr. Jashvant Patel is actively involved in teaching yoga. He has organized multiple yoga education sessions in the USA and has been a Swayam Sevak of RSS/HSS since 1972. Dr. Patel takes pride in organizing International Yoga Day every June in California, contributing to the promotion of yoga and holistic well-being.
