Director of Institute for Indic Knowledge Studies (HUA Alliance Partner)
Dr. Sai Ramakrishna Susarla is a distinguished scholar, institution builder, and technology leader with over two decades of experience spanning advanced systems research, academic leadership, and Indic knowledge education. At HUA, he designed, and leads the Master of Arts in Sanskrit and Vedic Studies program, under the HUA–MIT collaboration, working closely with a team of handpicked accomplished scholars.
He currently also serves as Director at MAEER’s Institute for Indic Knowledge Studies, Pune, providing strategic leadership to expand IKS education across universities through integrated pedagogy, technology, leadership training, and institutional collaboration. Previously, as founding Dean of the Maharshi Vedavyas MIT School of Vedic Sciences, he conceptualized and established one of India’s pioneering mainstream academic institutions dedicated to Vedic and Indic knowledge systems, building multidisciplinary faculty teams and designing rigorous curriculum frameworks.
Dr. Susarla is Co-founder and Trustee of Vedavaapi Foundation, contributing to large-scale initiatives in Sanskrit education, research dissemination, and cultural revitalization, and has also served as Advisor and Mentor to the MIT School of Vedic Sciences, guiding academic growth and institutional consolidation.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah and an M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur. His professional career includes senior leadership roles in multinational corporations, most recently as Technical Director at NetApp, Bengaluru, leading innovations in large-scale software architecture, data management, and analytics, with nearly 20 publications and over 30 patents.
A long-time volunteer with Samskrita Bharati, he actively advances Sanskrit and Indic knowledge traditions as living educational systems, uniquely bridging classical scholarship, Indic epistemology, and modern technological frameworks.
