Dr. Shriram Sarvotham is a highly respected faculty member in the Department of Yoga Studies at Hindu University of America, with over 30 years of experience in teaching yoga. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University, Houston, and currently works as a senior engineer in the tech industry in the Bay Area, California.

A dedicated yoga practitioner since childhood, Dr. Sarvotham was initiated into yoga by his teacher, Yogacharya R. Subramanian of Chennai, India. He has been teaching yoga since 1991 and has conducted over 300 workshops and retreats across the United States. He holds the E-RYT-500 certification and is known for offering a holistic and authentic experience of yoga.

His teaching draws deeply from classical texts such as the Patañjali Yoga Sūtras, Bhagavad Gītā, Yoga Yājñavalkya, and Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā, helping students integrate timeless yogic wisdom into their personal practice. Dr. Sarvotham is also a founding member of EkaShri Schools of Yoga and a faculty member of the Yoga Bharati Teacher Training Program.

In recognition of his contributions to the field, he received the “Exemplary Service Award in Yoga” from the Consulate General of India in 2015 and the “Yoga Service Award” from ISKCON in 2009.
