Mrs. Savita Joshi

Mrs. Savita Joshi is an E-RYT-500, C-IAYT, B.E.(electronics and Communications) and has Masters in Business Administration (California State University, East Bay, Hayward). After working as a Corporate Risk Analyst at a Bay area technology company for over 5 years, she quit her job and moved towards her inner calling of service. Presently she is a senior yoga therapist and the Director of Therapy Services at Yoga Bharati (www.yogabharati.org) in the USA.

Mrs. Savita Joshi specializes in applying her yoga expertise to various groups such as, kids with special needs, therapeutic applications of yoga. Savita has given workshops and talks at corporates, institutions and conferences. She has over 15 years of teaching experience in Yoga with more than 10,000 hours of group and private yoga instruction and spiritual counseling. Savita keeps up with her continuous education by attending therapy conferences, retreats and teaching yoga classes and workshops in the field.

Savita Joshi is a student of Yoga philosophy texts such as Patanjali Yoga sutras, Bhagawad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradeepika to name a few. She enjoys spending her spare time gardening, hiking, and crafts with her 2 daughters and her husband.

Teaching Yoga for Children

YOG3004 – This course enables students to integrate yoga in their teaching career, for guiding children, and for developing spiritual parenting skills. In this course, students will learn to integrate the principles and concepts of Holistic Yoga into their lifestyle as well as bring yoga techniques and concepts in a fun way to help children develop mindfulness and a healthy lifestyle. Students will also learn yoga techniques and concepts of yoga for handling and helping children with special conditions such as low-spectrum ADHD and Autism. In addition to this, students will learn to teach each other in a mock class environment in small group settings with a faculty who guides and moderates the student groups. Teaching yoga is best learned under a mentor in a class setting. Students will engage in active interaction in a live online class setting.
