Ānvīkṣikī - Strategic Thinking Framework for Leaders
Recent Webinar: Wednesday, December 17, 2025, 6:00 pm PT / 9:00 pm ET / 7:30 am IST (Thu, Dec 18)
About the Webinar:
In a world of fast change, deep uncertainty, and shifting values, ancient wisdom can serve as a reliable compass. This webinar dives into the enduring leadership philosophy of Chanakya — grounded in his classic work Arthashastra — and explores its powerful relevance for modern leaders across business, public service, academia, and community life.
Chanakya stands alongside figures like Sun Tzu and Machiavelli as one of history’s most influential thinkers on power, governance, and strategy, yet his vision is both broader and more deeply rooted in ethical responsibility. Sun Tzu focuses on the art of war, emphasizing perception, timing, and psychological advantage in conflict. Machiavelli centers his analysis on political survival, often highlighting realpolitik and the pragmatic use of power. Chanakya, by contrast, integrates statecraft, economics, leadership psychology, diplomacy, and ethics into a single coherent framework. Where Machiavelli privileges expediency and Sun Tzu prioritizes strategic victory, Chanakya insists that long term stability arises only when strategy is grounded in dharma, the welfare of the people, and the disciplined character of the ruler. This blend of sharp pragmatism with moral responsibility is what makes Chanakya uniquely relevant for leadership in the twenty-first century.
Led by Dr. Radhakrishna Pillai and Shri Pranav Patel from Hindu University of America, we will introduce key leadership principles from the Arthashastra including dharma (ethics and duty), niti (strategy and policy), artha (management of resources and prosperity), and anvikshiki (science of inquiry).
Participants will learn how these principles can inform decision-making, strategic planning, and leadership style in contexts ranging from corporate boardrooms to community organizations.
The webinar will also outline how the full course Chanakya’s Leadership Principles for the 21st Century works — a structured program that combines historical insight, philosophical clarity, and practical applications. Through case studies, discussions, and role-play, participants will see how ancient models of governance, power, and human psychology can be reinterpreted to meet the demands of modern complexity. By the end of the session, you’ll understand why Chanakya’s strategies remain relevant, what ethical leadership means in contemporary settings, and how you might begin to build your own leadership model rooted in integrity, insight, and adaptability.
Whether you are a business executive, a public servant, an organizational leader, or someone interested in ethical decision-making and strategic vision, this webinar offers a time-tested framework for leading with clarity, purpose, and resilience. Join us to discover how ancient Indian statecraft can help shape the leaders of today and tomorrow.
