Introduction to the Upanishads:
Entering the Heart of Vedantic Wisdom
Upcoming Webinar: Sunday, December 7, 2025, 7 am PT / 10 am ET / 8:30 pm IST
About the Webinar:
Join Dr. Kalika Uttarkar for a rare and illuminating journey into the Upanishads, the heart of Vedantic wisdom and the summit of the entire Vedic tradition. Far from being abstract or historical curiosities, the Upanishads speak directly to the fundamental human questions that remain unanswered even in the age of artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and rapid technological transformation. These texts offer a direct science of consciousness that predates and surpasses modern theories, a complete understanding of human experience at all levels, and an unshakable answer to the questions “Who am I really” and “What is the ground of everything.” Their methods of meditation, contemplation, and mantra show how intellectual insight becomes lived freedom.
In this session, Dr. Uttarkar will introduce the sweep of Upanishadic vision and explain why the five Upanishads studied in HUA’s Introduction to the Upanishads courses are more relevant today than ever. Participants will gain an understanding of the place of the Upanishads within the Vedic corpus, the distinct contributions of the Aitareya, Taittiriya, Kena, Chandogya, and Shvetashvatara, and the way these texts reveal the Saccidananda nature of the self. You do not need to have studied earlier Upanishads to attend. This session is perfect for complete beginners and seasoned seekers who wish to enter a traditional and systematic path of study.
The webinar will also offer a clear picture of what to expect from HUA’s Introduction to Upanishads courses, including the structure, approach, and the transformative learning outcomes that students consistently report. Testimonial speakers and current students will share their own experiences of how these teachings have reshaped their understanding of themselves and the world. Whether you are a philosopher, a meditator, a scientist, or simply someone searching for lasting clarity, this session invites you to taste the nectar that the ancient rishis declared is your own true nature.
