About the Webinar:
Join us for an insightful and deeply personal conversation inspired by Unbaptized: Why I Left Christianity and Returned to My Roots
by Smt. Esther Dhanraj, HUA’s Director of Advancement.
In this powerful webinar, Esther will share her remarkable journey of transformation—from spending over two decades in evangelical Christianity and earning a Master of Divinity in the United States, to undertaking a courageous process of scholarship, questioning, and self-inquiry that ultimately led her back to her Hindu roots.
In this discussion with HUA President, Shri. Kalyan Viswanathnan, Esther will reflect on the realities of religious conversion, the emotional and intellectual challenges of leaving one faith for another, and the profound questions that arise around identity, tradition, and belonging. Through the webinar we will explore what it means to rediscover one’s cultural and spiritual heritage after years of separation, and how such a return can serve as both an act of truth and healing.
This webinar goes beyond one individual’s story; to illuminate universal themes such as faith and doubt, home and alienation, modernity and tradition. It invites participants to consider the deeper dimensions of spiritual identity in a globalized world and to engage thoughtfully with the intersections of religion, culture, and personal freedom.
Join us for an honest, moving, and intellectually rich session that opens a space for dialogue, reflection, and understanding about what it means to come home to one’s roots.
