The Three Paths in Bhartruhari’s Satakas
Upcoming Webinar: Sunday, November 30, 2025, 3:30 pm PT / 6:30 pm ET / 5:00 am IST (Mon, Dec 1)
About the Webinar:
Join us for a rich and reflective session led by Dr. Ashutosh Pareek, as we enter the timeless world of Bhartruhari through his celebrated work, the Nitishloka Shatakatrayam. In this webinar, you will encounter his three collections of verse, the Nitishataka on ethics, the Shringarashataka on love, and the Vairagyashataka on renunciation. Together, they offer profound insights into human conduct, desire, detachment, and the balance between the material and spiritual dimensions of life.
Dr. Pareek will guide participants through a few key verses from the Nitishataka, exploring how Bhartruhari’s aphorisms illuminate leadership, friendship, integrity, aspiration, and the human condition. The discussion will also situate this work within the classical Sanskrit literary tradition and the broader philosophical landscape of ancient India, helping attendees appreciate how these verses continue to speak to modern seekers with clarity and depth.
This webinar is ideal for students of Sanskrit, admirers of Indian literature and philosophy, and anyone who seeks a deeper understanding of ethical and spiritual living. Join us to discover how poetic wisdom can shape the way we think, relate, and grow in our personal and collective journeys.
