Faculty – Community Education Division (Ayurveda & Integrative Health)
Dr Rammohan Rao, popularly known as Ram serves as faculty in HUA’s Community Education Division and at the California College of Ayurveda. He comes from a family of Ayurvedic practitioners and Vedic teachers in India. Ram has a PhD in Neuroscience and was a Research Associate Professor at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, Novato, CA. He presently serves as a Chief Scientist at ApolloHealth which uses a systems-based, integrative approach to prevent or reverse Alzheimer’s disease. Ram has over twenty-five years of research and teaching experience in Biological and Health Sciences and has published 70+ peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals, including chapters in several textbooks.
Ram completed the academic training at the California College of Ayurveda and received his certification as Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Panchakarma Specialist. He is a NAMA Board Certified Ayurveda Practitioner (AP), a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and is a review commissioner of the National Ayurveda Medical Association Accreditation Committee (NAMAC). He teaches Ayurveda at the California College of Ayurveda and also conducts yoga teacher training classes at a couple of Yoga studios in the SF-Bay area. Ram has published several articles in major Yoga/Ayurveda magazines and has been a featured speaker in several national and international meetings.
