Dr. Yelloji-Rao Mirajkar, faculty in HUA’s Community Education Division, is a scientist, researcher, and community leader with a distinguished career spanning research, innovation, education, and organizational leadership. He earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and completed post-doctoral research at Columbia University, New York. Dr. Mirajkar spent 25 years in Research and Development at the Global Technology Center of Colgate-Palmolive Company, USA, where he worked across multiple product categories and contributed to numerous invention records, internal reports, and patented innovations. Many of his patents have been successfully commercialized, earning him multiple awards. His expertise lies in the interactions among surfactants, polymers, fragrances, flavors, and active ingredients in formulations, with a focus on delivery and post-delivery performance. He has also published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and reviewed scientific publications, journal articles, and books.
Currently, Dr. Mirajkar serves as the International Convener of the Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Forum, fostering collaboration among the global Indian scientific and technical community. He is a member of the Board of Overseers at the Hindu University of America, serves on the Board of Directors of the National Consortium of Ayurveda Medicine, and is a Leadership Coach for Braven at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Previously, he served as National Karyavaha (Executive Director) and member of the National Team of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA, Inc., and was also associated with the Dharma Civilization Foundation, USA. Dr. Mirajkar holds two master’s degrees from Mysore University and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and briefly served as a lecturer at DVS Senior College. Originally from Shivamogga, Karnataka, he is now retired and resides in Piscataway, New Jersey, USA.
