Description

This course is seventh in an eight-course sequence, which constitutes the Certificate Program in Sanskrit through the Yogashaastram offered by Hindu University of America.  It provides an alternative route to achieving Sanskrit Proficiency.  It enables students to study Yogashaastram in depth using the medium of the scripture’s own Language, and in doing so, become skilled in the Sanskrit Language itself.  In this course, Faculty will lead students by each verse in detail, sequencing through Patanjali YogasootraaNi, while simultaneously unraveling the inner meanings contained in Sanskrit.  This course will introduce students to the following elements of Sanskrit language: detailed analysis of shlokas, along with their building blocks, elucidation of meanings and structures, all entirely in Sanskrit – as aptly illustrated in class using the original Sanskrit language sentences and formations found in the Yogashaastram.
