Mr. Sajjan Agarwal

Mr. Sajjan Agarwal came to United States in 1976 and has called Cary, North Carolina home for the last 30 years.

Mr. Agarwal obtained his Engineering Degree from Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, India and his MBA in Finance from Michigan State University. He founded Sigma Electric Corporation in 1981 which had operations in India and the US. He was pioneer in offshore manufacturing and supply chain management, supplying thousands of electrical components to major Corporations throughout the world. He sold the business to Goldman Sachs in 2007. It has over 5,000 employees together in India and USA.

He is currently the Chairman and CEO of GreenHawk Corporation, located in Raleigh with significant operations in Residential and Commercial Real Estate across the Carolinas.  

The Agarwal family has been involved in many philanthropic causes promoting education for underprivileged children and improving healthcare both in India and the US. They are active on many boards including, Duke Hospital Raleigh, EKAL USA, YMCA, Hindu Society of NC and others.

Mr. Suresh Gupta

Suresh K. Gupta was born in Mombasa, Kenya. He was educated in the United Kingdom with an accounting degree and went on to be a chartered accountant. He moved to the United States in 1984 and started the homebuilding business with two other partners. Park Square Homes has celebrated over 34 years in business.

Suresh Gupta is the CEO of Park Square Homes and has been President over associated mortgage and title insurance companies. He has had extensive experience in other real estate businesses such as hotels and multi-family.

He is a member of various boards such as the UCF Foundation, the Orlando Chamber of Governors, the Hindu University, for the past 15 years and the Hindu Society of Central Florida. He was past chairman of the Hindu Society of Central Florida. While a board member of the UCF Foundation he sponsored a student in the Charter Class of the UCF School of Medicine.

Suresh Gupta was recently awarded the “Father of the Year” award by the American Diabetes Association.
He currently holds his title insurance, real estate and General Contractor licenses.

Dr. Aseem Shukla

Dr. Aseem R. Shukla, MD – University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, is the Endowed Chair and Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Professor of Surgery (in Urology) at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shukla completed his residency in general surgery and urology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and his fellowship in pediatric urology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Prior to returning to the Division of Urology in 2012, Dr. Shukla served as Director of urology at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital and held associate professorships in urology and pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, Dr. Shukla served as the Residency Program Director of the University of Minnesota Department of Urology. His clinical and research interests include robot-assisted laparoscopy and the bladder exstrophy-epispadias complex, and also spans hypospadias, urinary reflux, hydronephrosis and complex urinary tract reconstruction.

Dr. Aseem Shukla is active in developing pediatric urology as a discipline globally. He routinely lectures and participates in surgical workshops and conferences throughout Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe. He provides consultation and strategic input in developing opportunities for partnerships and collaborations that serve to increase access to pediatric healthcare services in South Asia and the Gulf Region.

Dr. Aseem Shukla was a Co-founder of the Hindu American Foundation in 2003 and serves as a member of their National Leadership Council. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Hindu University of America and chairs the Board’s Strategic Affairs Committee.

Prior to Incedo, Nitin has held several top management positions.  He was Chief Operating Officer of Flipkart, India’s largest ECommerce company; Managing Director and Country Head for Fidelity International in India, where he also led Global Offshore Operations and Business Strategy for Fidelity’s International business;  and Director of McKinsey’s Global Knowledge Centre in India, where he conceptualized, developed and led many new knowledge and analytics based capabilities that have had far reaching industry impact.

Nitin Seth holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, where he was awarded Chairman’s gold Medal for standing first in the MBA program, and a degree in engineering (B.Tech) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Nitin Seth has been elected twice to the NASSCOM Executive Council, was a Founder & Chairperson of NASSCOM’s GIC Council, and was the Chairperson of the Nasscom Regional Council (NRC) in Haryana, India. As an avid speaker in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship, business transformation and technology, Nitin regularly speaks at industry conferences and writes a blog called “Nitin’s Fundas” at nseth71.blogspot.com.

Nitin is passionate about mentoring and nurturing leaders and is a Co-Founder of Plaksha University – India’s largest collective philanthropy effort to build a new model of engineering education and research.

Mr. Narsimha Koppula

Narsimha Koppula has around 30 years of experience in the field of information technology and management. As entrepreneur he co-founded Ace info Solutions in 2000 which grew to a successful federal IT contractor. He has been mentoring small businesses in DC Metro region in federal IT contracting.

He is passionate about continuous learning of Sanatana Dharma by association with organizations such as Chinmaya Mission and Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh. He is chapter advisor as Sewa International and active with World Hindu Economic Forum. He is also passionate about improving US-India relations. For over 10 years, through US-India Security Council, working to educate law makers and other decision makers to promote correct understanding of India and promote defense technology cooperation between US and India. He promotes participation of Indian American community in mainstream US political process.

He has master’s degree in Structural Engineering from West Virginia University. He lives in Vienna, VA with his wife Pratibha and two sons Rohit and Sujit.

Mr. Kiran Chhaganlal

Kiran Chhaganlal is an accomplished senior executive with over 30 years of operational experience in multi-national companies and start-up enterprises, as well as in law firms and corporate legal departments. He has earned multiple law degrees and has practiced law in three different countries. He earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics & Political Science in London, the Barrister-at-Law degree from Grays’ Inn, London, and the Certificate of Law from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. Mr. Chhaganlal has lived at least 8 years each in India, Fiji Islands, England, New Zealand, and now in USA since 2000.

Mr. Kiran Chhaganlal is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ius Juris LLC, which is provides legal support and services for in-house legal departments and law firms in North America. The firm has a dedicated team of lawyers who specialize in various practice areas, focusing mainly on Intellectual Property (trademarks and patents), Contracts, and Compliance Programs. Mr. Chhaganlal is also a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Florida Business Partners, LLC, which provides consulting services, strategic advice, and hands-on assistance to select individual clients and families in the areas of funding, business development, and probate/estate matters.

Mr. Kiran Chhaganlal is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Florida Technology Partners, LLP, which set up and managed a network of Angel investors funding early-stage technology companies in the 2000’s. The FTP portfolio companies raised over US$700 Million in funding between them. Mr. Chhaganlal is a Co-Founder, Past-President, and Past-Chairman of TiE Florida, and a Charter Member of TiE Tampa. He is also on the Board of Directors of Florida’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities. He has served as President and Executive Committee Member of several cultural, community, and professional organizations, including being a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Auckland Harbourside in New Zealand.

Dr. Ajay Shah

Ajay Shah earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Mississippi, and Executive MBA from the University of Arizona.  He has worked in the industry and an academic research institution in management positions in the areas of intersection between science and technology.  Dr. Shah is an Adjunct Professor of Management at Amrita University where he teaches Strategic Management in joint MS/MBA program between Amrita University School of Business and SUNY Buffalo.

Dr. Ajay Shah serves as the Executive Vice President of World Hindu Council of America (VHPA).  He is a co-founder of the Hindu Students Council, the first and the largest organization of Hindu students outside Bharat, co-founder and CEO of HinduNet, the first and the most prominent Hindu website in the world which paved the way for Hindu presence in the electronic media. 

His pioneering role in presenting Hindu dharma on the internet was featured in the book, “The Soul of Cyberspace: How New Technology Is Changing Our Spiritual Lives” by Jeffrey Zaleski. Dr. Shah is the founder and Convener of American Hindus Against Defamation (AHAD), the very first initiative of Hindus to stand up against the misrepresentation of Hindu icons, culture and way of life, founder and Convener of Hindu Policy Research and Advocacy Collective USA (HinduPACT USA), and co-host of HinduLounge, a weekly Facebook Live program on contemporary American Hindu issues.

Previously, Dr. Shah served as the editor of the Hindu Vishwa and various internet Hindu forums.  In 1990, he wrote “Our Kashmir,” a book about the issues in Kashmir and its impact on Hindus.  Ajay credits Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Mumbai, India for inspiring him to work on Hindu causes.

Asha Pillai

Dr. Asha Pillai, M.D., FAAP, FACP is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology & Immunology, Deputy Director of Translational Research, Co-Director, FOCIS Center of Excellence in Human Immunology, and Member of the Tumor Biology Program in the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Asha Pillai completed her B.S. in Immunlogy at Stanford University and medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine, combined residencies in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas) and the first combined Medicine-Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology/ Transplantation fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she also received a Ruth Kirschtein Transplant Immunology Research Fellowship and the K08 Career Development Award of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Dr. Asha Pillai’s research group has remained NIH-funded since 2007, with a focus in innate immunity, and immune tolerance, leading to the development of novel techniques for innate immunotherapy in transplantation. She established an internationally recognized laboratory at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a premier pediatric cancer research center. She has published several research papers in Immunology, transplantation, and immunotherapy.

Since a teenager, she has been deeply involved in medical development work in India and has established several international initiatives in medicine, cancer, and transplantation. After joining the University of Miami, she leads international efforts in these and related areas. Among leadership roles, she has served on advisory boards and committees of international organizations including the Asian American Donor Program (AADP), the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS), and as a standing member of the Transplantation, Tolerance, and Tumor Immunology Study Section of the NIH.

Her efforts in immunology, global health, and education are intertwined with the goal of developing advanced research and immune therapies that are pragmatically applicable internationally. She was an early avid student of classical South Indian fine arts and remains active in this arena. Since 1987, Dr. Asha Pillai has been deeply involved in programmatic inclusion of advanced Hindu studies at major academic centers. Among her interests are Sanskrit studies, novel transdisciplinary research initiatives, and insuring accurate representation of vedic pedagogy in history, literature, and philosophy programs in academia.

Dr. Jashwant Patel

Dr. Jashwant Gangaram Patel completed his MBBS and MS (Master of Surgery) degrees from Gujarat University, he is a General Surgery Residency at Flushing Hospital, Cornell University, New York and his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Kings Brook Jewish Medical Center, New York. He completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and 1996 and served as a Visiting Scientist at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, North Carolina for 5 years, before moving to the Central Coast of California in 2001 to start his pain medicine practice.

As a Medical Doctor with over 25 years of experience in Spine and Pain Management, he performs advanced surgeries and procedures for pain in the USA. Dr. Patel also is currently a Medical Director and the owner of the CASC (Cypress Ambulatory Surgery Center) and Pain Management Practice on the Central Coast of California.

Dr. Jashwant Patel is involved in various social and community organizations and is on the board of several organizations. He serves on the board of directors for FIIDS (Federation of India and Indian Diaspora Studies) and Param Shakti Peeth of America. He serves on the National Advisory Council (NAC) for the National Institute of Media, Communication, and Research (NIMCaR), Ahmedabad. Dr. Patel was part of the historic reception of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in San Jose in September 2016 and had arranged a meeting of Gujarati leaders with the Prime Minister. 

Dr. Jashwant Gangaram Patel has been a part of Dhanvantari Seva Yatra in the northeast of India for many years and has done Medical Camps in Meghalaya, Assam, Majuli and Arunachal Pradesh. He is very active in teaching yoga and has organized multiple yoga education sessions in the USA. He has organized International Yoga Day every June since 2015 in California and has been a Swayam Sevak of RSS / HSS since 1972.

Vimal Patel

Board Member

Dr. Vimal Patel received his Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis in 1969. He was the recipient of the National Institute of Health Fellowship in Neuropathology from 1970 through 1974. He has also qualified as an Ayurveda Ratna, from the Allahabad University, in 1996 where he studied under practicing Ayurvedic Physicians.

Dr. Vimal Patel was an Associate Professor of Neuropathology (Retired) at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he served as Director of Neurochemistry Diagnostic Laboratory at the Department of Pathology for 34 years, from 1970 to 2004. He also served as a Visiting Professor and Advisor to the President of Martin University in Indianapolis.

During his active career, he established the Indiana Institute of Integrative Medicine and served as its Director and President. He has also published a few papers in the field of experimental pathology, integrative medicine and performed pioneering research in Ayurvedic Rasayana. Dr. Vimal Patel was empaneled into the 21-member NIH Panel for evaluating integrative medicine centers, from 2000 to 2004, where he was responsible for disbursing over $ 130 Million to various centers.

In his more than 50 years of residence in Indianapolis, he has been involved in the establishment of several social and religious organizations, catering to the Hindu community and culture. Dr. Vimal Patel is a founding member of India Community Center, the Geeta Mandal of Indianapolis and its Balagokulam, a past director of Vishwa Hindu Parishad America, a Founding member of the Hindu Temple of Central Indiana, Hindu American Vanaprasthi Network (HAVAN), a Board member of Center for Interfaith Cooperation (CIC) in Indianapolis. In his post-retirement period, he is actively engaged in Interfaith dialogues representing Hindu Dharma with many different organizations, including schools and churches.
