About the Free Webinar:
The devotional traditions of Hindu Dharma contain countless treasures that have inspired spiritual seekers for centuries. Among these, the Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram—the thousand names of Lord Vishnu—and the Sundarkand from Ramcharitmanas stand out as powerful expressions of devotion, philosophy, and sacred poetry.
Join Acharya Mrityunjay Trivedi, faculty member at Hindu University of America, for a special introductory webinar exploring the beauty and significance of these two beloved Hindu texts. Acharya Trivedi brings deep training in Sanskrit and Hindu scriptures, with a Master of Theology in Dharmashastra and years of teaching experience in Vedic traditions, chanting, and scriptural interpretation.
In this session, participants will be introduced to the spiritual and literary depth of these works. The Vishnu Sahasranama, found in the Anushasana Parva of the Mahabharata, presents the thousand names of Lord Vishnu as a dialogue between Yudhishthira and Bhishma, offering profound insight into the nature of the Divine and the path of devotion.
The webinar will also explore the beauty of Sundarkand, the celebrated chapter of Ramcharitmanas composed by Tulsidas, which recounts the heroic and devotional journey of Hanuman as he searches for Sita in Lanka on behalf of Rama. This chapter is revered for its themes of courage, faith, and selfless service.
During the webinar, Acharya Trivedi will offer insights into the history, meaning, and devotional significance of these texts while demonstrating how chanting and understanding these verses can deepen one’s spiritual practice. Attendees will also learn about two upcoming courses at Hindu University of America that provide a guided and systematic study of these traditions—covering pronunciation, chanting, context, and deeper philosophical meaning.
Whether you are new to Hindu scriptures or a lifelong practitioner seeking deeper understanding, this webinar will open the door to experiencing the beauty of sacred Sanskrit literature and devotional chanting.
Join us to meet the faculty, explore these timeless texts, and discover how you can continue the journey through deeper study in the upcoming courses.
