Course Description

SAN8108 – Ayurveda Advanced builds on the foundational concepts of Ayurveda Basic, guiding students into deeper clinical understanding and classical textual study. The course explores advanced diagnostic tools such as Aṣṭasthāna Parīkṣā, Nāḍī Parīkṣā, and Rogamārga, along with Dosha-Dhātu-Mala interactions, Saṃprāpti (pathogenesis), and the Shatkriyākāla (six stages of disease). Students are introduced to specialized branches like Kaumāra-bhṛtya (pediatrics), Rasāyana (rejuvenation), and Vājīkaraṇa (reproductive health), and gain familiarity with key therapies including Pañcakarma. Emphasis is placed on analyzing formulations from classical texts such as Caraka Saṃhitā and Aṣṭāṅga Hṛdaya, and developing care plans using Āhāra (diet), Vihāra (lifestyle), and Auṣadhi (herbs). Case-based learning supports real-world application, making this course ideal for advancing toward clinical engagement or deeper Ayurvedic studies.
