Course Content

Navigating the Ṛgveda:

Decipher the structure of the Ṛgveda, examining its organization into maṇḍalas (books) and aṣṭakas (hymnal sections). Learn to navigate this vast collection and identify specific sūktas for further study.

Delving into the Nāsadīya Sūkta and Beyond:

Explore the profound hymn of creation, the Nāsadīya Sūkta, alongside other key Ṛgvedic hymns. Utilize the vyākhyānas (commentaries) of renowned scholars to unlock deeper meanings and interpretations within these ancient verses.

Distinguishing Vedic Texts:

Gain a clear understanding of the different layers of Vedic literature. Learn to differentiate between the Saṁhitā-s (hymn collections) like the Ṛgveda and Yajurveda, the Brāhmaṇas (ritualistic explanations), the Āraṇyakas (forest texts), and the Upaniṣads (philosophical treatises), based on their unique lakṣaṇas (defining characteristics).

Philosophical Interpretations:
