Course Description

The schools of philosophy based on the last portions of the Vedas, i.e. Vedānta, not only vary in their interpretation of the Vedānta but also differ among themselves with regard to their categories and ontology of the world both here and hereafter. A long dialectical tradition among these schools of Vedānta lives and flourishes to this day. It is interesting to comparatively analyze and understand the ontologies and categories proposed by these different schools of Vedānta to understand the intriguing nature of the Vedas. This course is the second of a two-part course series on Vedānta.
