They delve deeper into vidhi-liṅg-lakārāḥ (potential moods). They are introduced to the basics of svara-sandhis (coalescence of two letters coming in immediate contact with each other, in vowels). The students continue to gain insight into the lives of esteemed Saṃskṛtam poets like Kālidāsaḥ, Baṇaḥ, Gaṅgadevī, Thirumalāmbā, Mallīnāthaḥ through their kaviparicayaḥ. This quarter they will study the fifth to seventh vibhakti (declensions of nouns) in halanta-puṃliṅga (masculine bases ending in consonant sounds). The students will be instructed in letter writing to improve their day-to-day use of Saṃskṛtam.
