BODHAK – The Gita Vidya Teacher Training Course Content:
Gita Vidya Program is designed and developed using G-Education model, which aims to disseminate the wisdom of Bhagavad-Gita through smart tools of communication and modern means of education. Using the knowledge obtained through the DEHA, GNANA and YOGA courses, participants will be able to conduct GitaVidya courses to a variety of audiences from different age groups. In this course participants shall discuss the ways of engaging their audience through activities involving the course material such as the transliteration textbooks, workbooks, recitation audios and explanation videos etc.
Textbooks: The transliteration textbooks are available in 24 languages. These textbooks help in reading and copywriting the shlokas. Participants can have the ease of learning the shlokas in a language of their choice. Transliteration textbooks are available for free download to participants.
Guided audios: The guided audios are available in two formats. The “Guided Chanting Audios” are useful for listening the accurate pronunciation of the shlokas. The “Guided Practice Videos” are helpful in learning the word-by-word pronunciation of the shlokas.
Workbook: The workbook is designed to stimulate interest and facilitate learning by using graphic illustrations and other smart features. The workbook has QR links to complimentary course material such as guided recitation of shlokas and their explanation videos.
Course Structure:
In this course participants will gain practical understanding of the learning tools and training methods of Gita Vidya Program. Participants shall plan and implement the activities involving each of the following modules to achieve the learning objectives of GitaVidya courses.
SADHANA module provides an overview of Bhagavad-Gita in 17 thematic topics. Learners can add colors to the graphic illustrations, copywrite the shlokas in language of choice and practice the accurate pronunciation through guided audios.
SODHANA module provides deeper understanding of the Bhagavad-Gita shlokas by offering E-Classes about their meaning and interpretation. Learners can watch the video lessons by scanning the QR codes given on each page of the workbooks.
VAADANA module enables practical application of the Bhagavad-Gita wisdom in one’s own life. Participants shall engage in debate and discuss the real-life issues to find possible solutions for such issues by applying the wisdom of Bhagavad-Gita.
This course provides practical knowledge of conducting SADHANA, SODHANA and VAADANA modules for audiences of different age groups in different settings such as academic institutions, spiritual organizations or community groups etc.
Class Structure:
There will be a minimum of 1.5 contact hours with faculty every week. The class is structured in a way that promotes discussion and debate based on self-study and reflection each week. After the weekly class the students will be required to submit audio recordings of verses and complete online assignments with drag and drop type questions.
Course Learning Objectives:
In this course students will be able to:
1)Practice accurate pronunciation of the shlokas through guided chanting.
2)Discover the interpretations from different commentaries on Bhagavad-Gita.
3)Gain a deeper understanding of the Bhagavad Gita by comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences between the interpretations of various acharyas.
4)Comprehend the simultaneous co-existence of diverse understandings of the divine wisdom of Hindu Dharma, enshrined in its varied Sampradayas.
5)Discover the foundations of Hindu Dharma from the Bhagavad-Gita
6)Gain an overview of the Hindu Wisdom, and Hindu Pathways for spiritual growth.
