In this course the students will be able to:
In this course, the emphasis is on revising and strengthening the understanding of the concepts and grammar covered in the program thus far. Students begin applying grammar accrued to comprehend texts such as Pañcatantrakathāḥ and Hitopadeśa stories. They will continue practicing the classifications of verb roots, including laṭ lakārāḥ (simple present tense), loṭ lakārāḥ (imperative mood), laṅg lakārāḥ (past tense), lṛt lakārāḥ (future tense), and liṅg lakārāḥ (potential mood), throughout this course by engaging in simple writing exercises and conversations. These activities will reinforce their understanding of verb roots, tenses, and moods. Students will apply their acquired knowledge to interpret texts and paraphrase them in Saṃskṛtam.
Students will have a dedicated 1.5 hours of contact time with the faculty each week. The class is carefully structured to facilitate effective learning in an online face-to-face format. The curriculum is designed to build upon the knowledge gained in previous classes. Regular homework assignments will provide valuable opportunities to practice the concepts covered in class. Successful completion of the course requires the submission of graded homework and the final Quarter End Exam (QEE)
