Area of Study:

Ayurveda and Integrative Health

Course Description

AIH2201 - This course explores immune function through the combined lens of Ayurveda and modern science, with a focus on understanding allergies, immune dysregulation, and chronic inflammatory conditions. Students examine Ayurvedic concepts such as Ojas, Agni, and Ama to explore how imbalances may contribute to immune overreaction, misidentification, or chronic activation. Sessions cover seasonal, food, and skin allergies, respiratory and thyroid-related conditions, as well as autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. Through case studies and guided discussions, students learn to recognize patterns, assess contributing factors, and develop individualized diet and lifestyle approaches that support immune balance, resilience, and overall well-being. The course also considers how Ayurvedic approaches can complement conventional care.
