Foundation for Holistic Therapeutic Yoga

According to International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of yoga practices and teaching. IAYT further says that yoga is a scientific system of self-investigation, self-transformation, and self-realization that originated in India. This course empowers students to learn yoga as a therapeutic practice. Students will be introduced to the entire toolbox of yoga practices, which can be used to address health conditions and learn how to practice yoga safely when one has chronic conditions.

Along with teaching simple but profound aspects such as how to breathe well, how to eat well, and how to manage one’s lifestyle in an optimal manner, this course also offers in-depth techniques of asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga-philosophy, and concepts to understand the entire landscape of holistic yoga as a Darshana Shastra – a classical tradition of yoga practice.

After completing this course, students will be able to modify their existing yoga practices and techniques to heal several mild chronic conditions such as pain conditions, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, stress-related disorders, and metabolic disorders, among others.
