Course Description

AIH1005 - This 11-week beginner-friendly course introduces the time-tested principles of Svasthavṛtta —Ayurveda’s science of daily and seasonal living, in a clear and practical way. Rooted in the principle that prevention is better than cure, this course empowers participants to align with nature’s rhythms and cultivate balanced living. Designed for wellness seekers and busy professionals, it covers personalized routines, Ayurvedic biological rhythms, and rejuvenation practices. Students will explore Doṣas, Agni, Āhāra (diet), Nidrā (sleep), Vyāyāma (movement), and Sadvṛtta (ethical living), while learning to build Ojas (vitality). Weekly topics like Dinacarya, Ṛtucaryā, gut health, and gentle detox provide practical tools for sustainable, lifelong wellness.

Vaidya Vandana Baranwal is a doctor of Ayurveda specializing in Women’s health. She holds an MD in Ayurvedic Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga (PTSR) from the Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. With almost 30 years of experience and a decade-long practice in the USA, she has founded Ayurvedatri LLC – Women Wellness Solutions for women’s health and well-being.

In this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand Ayurveda’s preventive approach.
  • Identify their unique constitution and align the diet, sleep, movement for a personalized daily wellness plan.
  • Create a customized routines aligned with Ayurvedic Biological Rhythms.
  • Discover movement practices suitable for Dosha and life stage.
  • Learn to cultivate Ojas through rejuvenating foods, herbs, and restorative practices.

Course Content

Ayurveda promotes health and well-being through a deeply personalized approach. This course will introduce the foundational principles of Ayurveda, including doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and Agni- Ama, and explain how these concepts apply to the unique physical, emotional, and hormonal transitions that women experience in different phases of their life.

10 Building Ojas – Vitality & Immunity
11 Integration & Wellness Planning

Class Structure

There will be a minimum of 1.5 contact hours with one or more faculty every week for 11 weeks.
The class is structured in a way that promotes interactive teaching, reference readings, discussion and debate. Interesting practical assignments to give hands on experience of Ayurveda . Each class will be comprised of 1 hour teaching and 30minutes for interaction on the topic. During the course, students will complete time to time assignments.
