AIH2200 – The Ayurveda Wellness Retreat and Practicum is a transformative 4-day journey designed to harmonize mind, body, and spirit through ancient wisdom and holistic practices. Nestled in the serene surroundings of Pine Lake Retreat near Orlando, FL, this immersive experience will guide participants on a path of self-discovery, wellness, and rejuvenation. In this course, Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Ayurveda, Yoga, empowering them to make informed choices for their well-being. The retreat aims to foster a sense of self-awareness and provide practical tools that participants can seamlessly incorporate into their daily lives, promoting lasting health and harmony.

Dr. Mahadevan Seetharaman is a Duke Integrative Healthcare Leader and Founder of Ayurveda Living. As an Ayurveda Diet & Nutrition Consultant and Yoga Teacher, he provides up-to-data Ayurveda related health and wellness information, directory, research, news, and reviews. Dr. Mahadevan serves on the Boards of the Global Council for Ayurveda Research (GCAR), American Association of Ayurvedic Professionals (AAAP), the American Academy of Yoga and Meditation (AAYM) and co- founded the Texas Ayurveda Professionals Association (TAPAS).

Dr. Aparna Bapat

Dr. Aparna Bapat is a distinguished Ayurveda Practitioner, Educator, and Entrepreneur, having worked in the U.S. for the past 25 years. Dr. Bapat earned her BAMS degree (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) from Pune University in India in 1990. After her internship in 1992, she joined Ayushakti in Mumbai, where she honed her skills in Ayurvedic Pulse reading and Panchakarma treatments under Dr. Naram.

Dr. Kanada Narahari

Vaidya Kanada Narahari, also known as Kanada Raghava, is an Ayurvedic physician holding a BAMS degree and a distinguished writer in Kannada. Since 2007, he has practiced Ayurvedic medicine in India, Nepal, South Africa, and the USA. Over the past 15 years, Kanada Narahari has cultivated a profound dedication to Naada Yoga. He has conducted live lecture-demonstrations on Naada Yoga and Ayurveda on prominent television and radio shows globally.

  • Communicate about Holistic Wellness, Ayurveda, and Yoga.

Course Content

There will be an online orientation before the retreat which will have more information on expectations, checklist and Q and A session.

The students are required to sign a consent form to be able to participate in the retreat.

The facility does not have wheelchair assistance, IV meds or medical equipment.

Please take a note that this is not a personal therapy retreat.

The key topics which will be covered in the retreat are as follows-

1. Understanding Ayurveda:

  • Objective: Familiarize participants with the foundational principles of Ayurveda.
  •  Activities:
    1)Introduce the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and help participants identify their Prakruti (individual constitution).
    2)Explore the concept of Agni (digestive fire) and its role in overall well-being.
  • 3)Provide practical insights into Ayurvedic daily routines for optimal health.
  • 4) Understand individual constitutions (Prakruti).
    5) Embrace Ayurvedic principles for balanced living.

2. Deepening Yoga Practices and incorporating Yoga Nidra in your life:

  •  Objective: Cultivate meaningful and sustainable yoga and Yoga Nidra practice for participants of all levels.
  • Activities:
    1) Tailored yoga sessions to address physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
    2) Emphasize the connection between breath and movement for a holistic yoga experience.
    3) Introduce meditation and mindfulness practices to enhance self-awareness.
  • 4) Daily yoga sessions for physical and mental well-being.
    5) Tailored practices for all levels of experience.

3. Ayurvedic Diet &Nutrition:

  • Objective: Empower participants to make conscious and Ayurvedically informed dietary choices.
  • Activities:
    1) Discuss the importance of food as medicine in Ayurveda.
    2) Explore individualized dietary recommendations based on Prakruti.
    3) Provide practical tips for incorporating Ayurvedic cooking principles into daily life.

4. Incorporating Lifestyle Changes:

  •  Objective: Guide participants in making sustainable lifestyle changes for overall well-being.
  •  Activities:
    1) Discuss the impact of daily routines (Dinacharya) on health and vitality.
    2) Offer personalized wellness guidance to support lifestyle modifications.
    3) Explore the integration of Ayurvedic practices into modern, busy lifestyles.
  • 4) Dive into Raga Chikitsa (healing through music).
    5) Connect with herbs, nutrition, and mindful living.

 

Self-Learning and Study Components:

1) Everyday Quiz.
2) Daily quizzes for reinforcement.
3) Prakruti, Swasthya  Questionnaire.
4) Comprehensive self-assessment.
5) Report on the Retreat Learning/Experience.
6) Personal reflection on the journey.
7) End of the Course Assignment (Due 1-2 Weeks After):

Location and Costs
The Pine Lake Retreat Center (http://pinelakeretreat.com/) offers a transformative Ayurveda, Yoga, and Raga Chikitsa Retreat, with costs varying based on accommodation preferences.
1) Individual participants can enjoy the complete experience, including a private cottage stay, for $1300
2) Couples seeking a shared family chalet pay $2400 for both.
These inclusive costs cover accommodation, nourishing Satvic vegetarian meals, supplies, course fee, and access to expert-led workshops, ensuring a comprehensive and rejuvenating retreat experience.

Class Structure

Our meticulously structured retreat seamlessly blends Ayurveda, Yoga, and Raga Chikitsa for a holistic journey of self-discovery and well-being. Participants will immerse themselves in Ayurvedic principles, explore transformative yoga, and delve into Musical experience. Expert-led sessions and practical learning provide a comprehensive understanding of each theme, culminating in personal growth and inner peace. With a focus on balance and harmony, this retreat nurtures mind, body, and soul, leaving participants with valuable tools for a harmonious life. Approximately 40 hours of theory and practical sessions encompass education, practice, and reflection in Ayurveda, Yoga, and Raga Chikitsa. Note: session durations may vary.
